Our Story

Welcome to the Woodlands Bed and breakfast. Dave and I, Marian met in 2017. We have other members of the team working here at the Woodlands our current feline friends Bob and Felix.
If your allergic to cats we are not the venue for you as the cats free roam.

We bought the Woodlands in 2019, we fell in love with the peace and tranquillity of the place. We are located at the top of the Gorge a 10-minute walk down through the beautiful historic streets to Ironbridge itself. it is a 20-minute stagger back up but there is a pub on route if required.

We offer a modern environment and hope you have a calm relaxed stay with us. We have renovated the 1950’s bungalow into the home it is today. There is still some exterior work ongoing currently.

We are a non-smoking property but happy for you to go outside away from the house if you need to smoke or vape. Anyone smoking in the rooms will be fined and the money will go to a local rescue.

Our rooms are themed with colours: – green, The Gorge , blue The Severn and grey The Bridge . We want you to feel relaxed and comfortable during your stay with us.

Each room has an ensuite shower, desk with chair, hanging space for your clothes and complimentary toiletries. We provide tea and coffee plus a selection of herbal tea bags. Each room has a TV that you can log into your own Netflix account or amazon prime, and it will log you out on leaving. The rooms all have underfloor heating and heated towels rails in the ensuites.

The Gorge and the Bridge rooms have sliding doors leading to a terraced area for you to sit out and enjoy the garden.  Please feel free to sit further out in the garden. We have a beautiful silver birch with a circular bench. I call this the reading tree.

The Severn room has a larger ensuite and looks out at the courtyard area. In the morning, we offer a cooked breakfast, this is served in the dining room.Or if the weather is nice, we have a large table outside for you to sit at.

We try to source local ingredients from butchers and bakers. If you have any special dietary requests, please advise on the time of booking to allow me to source the necessary items for you.
